It All Started At The Top!!

SCM is a program dedicated to nurturing and strengthening our students' relationship with Christ. God is not an after-thought in our daily routine. Our day starts with a small devotional where we spend some time with God. Children learn scriptures, sing songs,  discuss character traits, pray, and a host of other things. Children are often encouraged to lead some of these activities.

Proverbs 22:6 reads Train a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

We like to think that from the time a child steps through our doors until the time they leave, they carry a suitcase with them. We try to add as many good aspects to their suitcase as possible. Therefore, when they depart from us, they have a heavy arsenal that will help them navigate through life. When life seems difficult and unrelenting, they can pull from their suitcase.

I still pull from my suitcase on a regular basis. I recall the summer I learned all 66 books of the bible. Our class came up with a song that would help us remember them. I still remember the whole song. Something so small is critical in my life because I use my Bible often. Their journey may get hard, but their arsenal of good nuggets, like their relationship with God, never desert them.
